Lok Sanjh Foundation, in collaboration with the Barani Agriculture Research Institute (BARI) Chakwal and OIC-COMSTECH, organized a community-based training event to mark OIC Food Security Day on December 2, 2025 at BARI Chakwal.
The event brought together over 250 participants, including female farmers, youth, and male farmers from across Chakwal district. The program focused on climate-resilient agriculture, regenerative farming practices, and women’s empowerment as key pillars for strengthening local food systems.

These sessions provided practical guidance on soil health, home-based production of clean and chemical-free food, and enhancing the economic self-reliance of rural women. - Hands-on technical trainings enabled farmers to learn simple methods for preparing:
- Dry compost
- Liquid compost
- Biochar
The compost training was led by Miss Bisma, while Mr. Nadeem conducted the biochar demonstration. These trainings equipped participants to produce low-cost, eco-friendly inputs at home to improve soil health and reduce farming expenses.
- Climate-resilient agriculture awareness was further strengthened through a session by Program Manager Miss Hira Omer, who guided women farmers on how adopting regenerative practices can boost household food production and economic stability.
- Participants also visited BARI’s demonstration fields for practical exposure to:
- Wheat sowing techniques
- Vegetable cultivation
- Soil-health improvement practices
The event concluded with the distribution of citrus plants to all participating farmers as a step toward promoting sustainable agriculture and diversifying household food resources.
